Megan Nielsen earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, and is licensed in California and nationally as an acupuncturist and herbalist.
Megan’s interest in integrative medicine began with her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University, followed by a year studying various holistic modalities at Esalen Institute. Since then she has been fascinated with the combination of conventional and alternative therapies. Pursuing her Master’s in TCM has furthered her knowledge, passion and belief that the two can co-exist and compliment one another to achieve excellent results. In addition, she has traveled twice to Bali to volunteer as an acupuncturist at a birthing/women’s clinic. She has also studied in Hangzhou, China to complete an advanced internship program at the Zhejiang Medical Hospital, witnessing the integration of TCM and Western Medicine first hand in hospitals and clinics. Currently, she is a volunteer at The Charlotte Maxwell clinic for Women in Oakland and at Hospice by the Bay in Marin.
