Hello John,

Thanks! Happy New Year to you and Chris and the cats!

Traditionally, I advise to take psyllium husks separate as a great source of insoluble fiber and to help with peristalsis. It's true, since it speeds up peristalsis and helps dredge the colon, you could be missing out on nutrients in your food. Play it safe and only mix it with herbs with the intent of cleansing.

Hope that helps!

Happy New Year Christina! Congrats on setting up this blog. Look forward to reading your posts.

I'm confused about psyllium husk. One brand says "take with meals". Another brand did not specify. A worker at the store said to never add it to a recipe because it robs your body of nutrients. I thought it was a good form of fiber. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,
John
